3D solid tool in NX – an easy way (part 2)

3D solid tool in NX – an easy way (part 2)

Last week, I presented manual way of adding 3D solid tool to NX. Today, I will show easier way of doing this, which can be used in most cases.

Similar, like last week, I want to stress that:

3D Solid tool assemblies are used only in Verification of a tool path and in ISV.
All tool paths are generated basing on parametric tool. This is why in this example I also create face mill as parametric tool.

I’m not a big fan of creating milling/drilling tools as 3D assembly. The only reason for doing this, might be if it is not typical tool – which can’t be defined as parametric tool.
Intention of last week’s movie was to show you how tool files are stored in library and what kind of junctions are created behind the scenes.

Check out this video to see how it can be done more automated way:

    Hi Marek
Nice video, thank you for your time!! Is it possible to make a video showing how to build NX 3D solid tool of a CoroThread 266 threading tool? I’m having hard time configuring the NX parametric insert? Thanks
